In Resonance - Sound Art Installations/Performance/Lecture - Seattle: Aug 30 - Sept 2
This opens two days before Bumbershiit Festival, so that would be a prime opportunity to hear/see some of what I imagine will be excellent sound-art pieces before the clueless crowds arrive.

IN RESONANCE is a group exhibition at the Rainer Room of the Seattle Center, exploring the presence and influence of sound in contemporary art through installation, sculpture, drawing, film and video. Eleven artists and artist teams contribute works that challenge medium-specificity with languages, soundscapes, and modeled environments all their own. Presented as part of the 2005 Bumbershoot Arts Festival, this exhibition brings together internationally renowned sound-based artists with leading regional artists to highlight an innovative, diverse, and increasingly important field of contemporary art.
