Overall a pretty darn explorative year in sound - few things reallys stood out as "changing the history of sound as we know it", but there were many adventurous works that took the ears to exciting places and did so with degrees of virtuosity and distinction.
Favorite new genre/sound thats come around: Doom-Drone-Urmetal! (ala Boris, Sunn, Black Boned Angel, etc.)
